LAW AWARDS OF SCOTLAND 2009 IN ASSOCIATION WITH REGISTERS OF SCOTLAND

The Law Awards of Scotland are the premier event in the legal calendar. A gala formal event where the legal profession’s brightest minds and finest practitioners celebrate the accomplishments of those firms, organisations and individuals who have achieved excellence in the profession in Scotland.

As you will be aware the deadline for the Law Awards of Scotland has passed. We have had a great response from the recommended firms but a number have asked for extra time to get their reports in.

We have therefore extended the entry deadline until Wednesday 24th June for those requiring extra time to enter. Please contact Kimberley Baran on 0141 559 6078 or Kimberley.baran@carnyx.com to confirm you will be entering by the new deadline.

Achieving recognition at these awards is not easy. There are other back-slapping, self congratulatory award schemes. The Law Awards of Scotland are different. Legal firms cannot nominate themselves for an award. The judging process is initiated with robust selection from over 6,500 clients polled independently to establish which firms are the most respected for their service. Selected firms are then invited to submit a written report in the categories for which they have been recognised for assessment by our esteemed judging panel, chaired this year by Sir Menzies Campbell QC.

The 2009 research has now been concluded and those firms who have passed the research stage and been recommended have been contacted. These firms have been invited to enter the Law Awards in the various categories available. These firms’ report will be judged by our respected panel and those that impress the judges will be nominated and awarded.

Securing a nomination is a mark that the candidate has achieved the highest attainable standard in the opinion of their own clients, their peer group, our distinguished judges and the wider profession, not a result of clever marketing or slick PR. The Law Awards of Scotland in association with Registers of Scotland are the only independent and the most credible legal awards in the country.
