A team of solicitors from Ledingham Chalmers LLP are amongst 45 companies taking part in this year’s Cornerstone Cycle Challenge, in Aberdeen.
The team have the advantage of having champion cyclist Veli-Matti Raikkonen, from Ledingham Chalmers’ employment law section, who won the Etape Caledonia race earlier this year on their team.
Ledingham Chalmers Partner Malcolm Laing, who is also Depute Chair of Cornerstone’s board of directors, volunteered to clock up the first miles on a static bike. Teams will attempt to “cycle” as far as they can from Aberdeen using world cities as targets, with the team cycling the furthest total distance clinching the top spot.
Joining Malcolm in the challenge team are fellow partners Alan Michie, Robin Brodie, Alasdair Maclure, Jennifer Young, Peter Murray, Sarah Lane, Graeme Edward, Clive Philips and Daniel Stewart.
Ledingham Chalmers human resources manager Moira Burns said: “The wheels will be turning on our bike in the office 12 hours of every working day, with colleagues saddling up for 30 minute sessions.
“Quite a number of colleagues cycle to and from the office in Rose Street every day, and we hope to be able to add those miles and minutes to our overall total.”
