Former House of Lords Judge Lord Clyde is one of several speakers gathered together by the Public Law Group in the Murray Stable for a major conference on developing public law in Scotland.
Other speakers are Valerie Stacey QC, former Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Advocates, Mungo Bovey QC, Keeper of the Advocates Library, and advocates Scott Blair, Simon Collins, John McKendrick, Sheena Stark and Ross Macfarlane. Derek O’Carroll, Advocate, will be chairing the conference.
The conference will look at whether Scotland lags behind England in the development of public law and how this area of law may be further developed north of the border.
Lord Clyde will provide an overview of the current situation in Scotland and what developments might be expected. He will be followed by Professor Tom Mullen, Professor of Law and Head of Department at the School of Law, University of Glasgow, who will talk about the tribunal system, the development of administrative justice and likely impact of the Gill review.
The conference takes place November 10 at the Faculty of Advocates Mackenzie Building, Edinburgh.
