Crown Office claim Sheridan cases dealt with "in the usual way"
The Crown Office have rebutted the news reported yesterday which said that Lothian and Borders police had put them under "incredible pressure" to proceed with prosecutions against Tommy and Gail Sheridan. (the report can be read here)
A Crown Office spokesman claimed the report was "unsubstantiated," and the Sheridan case "was in fact dealt with in the usual way".
"It was reported to the Procurator Fiscal by Lothian & Borders Police and considered carefully by independent Crown Counsel who subsequently took the decision to prosecute Thomas and Gail Sheridan," the spokesman said.
