"Eight week" trial of Richey ends with acquittal on day 2
Kenny Richey has been cleared of carrying out an assault in whcih it was claimed a masked man had attacked and robbed a man of £200.
Richey had been charged, but lodged a special defence of alibi. Today's acquittal brings to an end a trial that had been scheduled to run for eight weeks. The charges were dropped today due to a lack of corroboration.
Richey returned to Scotland last year after 20 years on death row.
