Burness, which has offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow, has announced record results for its financial year. To the year end of 31 July, Burness recorded a turnover of £14.9m, which was up from £12.7m for the previous financial year, a figure that is 50 per cent higher than figures for 1999/2000. Although growth was recorded in many areas of the firm, areas such as property and employment in particular netted a healthy blend of new clients as well as more instructions from existing clients. Partners at Burness are putting the revenue growth down to their policy over the last year to implement improvements to client service rather than cutting charges or making economies of scale.
