
Professor Hans Köchler, the keynote speaker at the 2008 Law Awards of Scotland has been awarded the Grand Medal of David the Invincible, the highest award offered by the Armenian Academy of Philosophy.
The award was presented to Professor Kochler, appointed by the UN to observe the Lockerbie proceedings, by Professor Georg Brutian, Member of the Academy of Sciences of Armenia and President of the International Academy for Philosophy.
The medal was issued in 1980 by the Armenian Academy of Philosophy to commemorate the 1500th anniversary of the birth of David Anacht, David the Invincible, so named becasue of his intellectual skill in debates with his contenders.
Dr Kochler remains an outspoken critic of the flaws in the conduct of the Lockerbie trial and subsequent appeal process.
