The Crown Office are refusing to address whether the missing papers from the Shirley Mckie prosecution were lost or destroyed.
On Friday it emerged during the current inquiry that key papers from Mckie's prosecution were "missing". No explanation was provided for the loss of papers in Scotland's most scrutinised case.
The Firm asked the Crown to confirm whether the papers had been lost through error or actively destroyed. The Crown Office declined to answer, pointing out only that the "the entire file" was not missing: "rather it appears that some papers from the file may be missing."
