BREAKING NEWS: Another coincidence - Police drop inquiry into Crown Agent MacFadyen

In a day of extraordinary coincidence, Lothian and Borders police have this afternoon now confirmed that the CID are to drop their inquiries into Crown Agent Norman MacFadyen.

The Police had passed the investigation to CID after receiving correspondence from MSP Christine Grahame which is understood to have contained information about his handling of the Lockerbie investigation, itself subject to a series of converging developments today.

"Having fully considered correspondence from Ms Christine Grahame, MSP, titled "Lockerbie/Pan am 103 non-disclosure agreement and integrity of Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service", Lothian and Borders Police are fully satisfied that no further police action is necessary," the police said today.

"There is no substance to the assertions made in the letter that either justify or require further investigation."
