Shereen backs launch of Will Relief 2009

Journalist and broadcaster Shereen Nanjiani is launching Will Relief 2009 on 31 August, the Scottish Solicitors' charitable venture under which solicitors from all over Scotland are giving up their fees for making wills during the month of September.

This year participating firms will collect donations for a group of five Scottish based charities which specialise in relief and development work overseas. It is guaranteed that all money raised will be spent entirely in the world's poorest countries.

"I am impressed by the large number of solicitors who, despite difficult times, are still prepared to give up their time to help those in need overseas, Nanjiani said.

"It is something I feel very stongly about as, having filmed in some of these deprived countries, I have seen at first hand the difference aid can make. I was pleased to add my support to the solicitors venture."
