A new Livingston Sheriff Court opens on Tuesday to replace the existing Linlithgow Sheriff Court, Livingston Sheriff Court Annexe and Livingston Justice of the Peace Court.

The court is capable of being adapted for holding High Court sittings in the future.

"The courts in West Lothian will now have modern, purpose-built facilities with more courtroom space to accommodate the business," said Scottish Court Service Chief Executive , Eleanor Emberson.

"Bringing court staff together in a building along with Lothian and Borders police, the Procurator Fiscal Service and social work teams will help the criminal justice system in West Lothian work more effectively and will help make best use of public money."
