Former head of strategic change Neil Stevenson has been appointed to the newly created post 'Director of Representation and Professional Support' at the Law Society.
The Society say the post is intended to bring together the departments and staff at the Society who offer support and guidance to the profession.
“I’m keen to build a cohesive team, pulling together expertise from within existing departments, including Professional Practice, our events team, and those who work to support specific groups of solicitors, as those who already deliver huge value to the profession," he said.
“Within the next few months, I’d hope that members become increasingly aware of the campaigning work the Society does on behalf of the profession. We should also be able to give feedback on some of the initiatives we’ve identified to help trainees and new lawyers, in addition to the various business development projects we have planned to help members build business links and grow their share of the legal services market.”
Chief Executive Lorna Jack supported the overall aims of the creation of the post.
"I’ve had the opportunity to meet many of our members during my first six months at the Society, and a consistent theme has been that work we do to represent and support members needs to be both more visible and more effective," she said.
