MacQueen appointed to Law Commission

Professor Hector MacQueen has been appointed to the Law Commission to replace Professor Joe Thomson.

In addition, Laura Dunlop QC will take up a part time appointment to replace Colin Tyre QC.  Both Thomson and Tyre's appointment periods have come to an end.

"Professor MacQueen and Ms Dunlop bring skills and experience which will be a great asset. I am delighted they have agreed to accept appointment as Commissioners," said Justice Minister Kenny MacAskill.

Professor MacQueen's will work on a part-time basis until the end of the year due to prior commitments to the University of Edinburgh, and Dunlop will work one third hours because of her ongoing commitment as senior counsel to the Penrose Inquiry.
