Former procurator fiscal Anne Hart has been banned from driving for 18 months and received a £400 fine yesterday. She had earlier pled guilty to drink driving when she crashed into a parked car whilst trying to light a cigarette.

The parked car was hit with such severity it landed on its roof ten metres away.

Hart had previously escaped conviction for an earlier drink-drive incident, provoking outrage from road safety groups.
