Glasgow based solicitors Ross Harper are marking their 50th anniversary with a unique search for a law student who will be offered full funding and a guaranteed traineeship with the company.
The package, which the company value at up to £70,000, is aimed at facilitating the entry into law of a candidate who may have a “life barrier” to overcome.
“As part of our celebrations we are willing to support a student through their Law degree and Diploma in Professional Legal Practice with the offer of a traineeship with the Firm upon successful completion of the academic elements,” the company said in a statement.
“The support package will be tailor-made for the winner and will combine both financial and educational assistance.
“We are looking to help empower an individual who has a life barrier to further education”.
The Firm’s Editor and Publisher, Steven Raeburn, has been asked to join the judging panel.
“I am delighted to support this initiative, which recognises that in these straitened times, with postgraduate funding restricted as never before, access to practice law should be open to all, regardless of their personal economic circumstances,” he said.
“I look forward to assessing the candidates, and am sure that the legal profession will benefit from the entry to it of the bright new star who completes the programme.”
