The research process for the Law Awards of Scotland has launched with the announcement of four new categories, recognising the evolution of the legal profession in Scotland.

A new category, Global Firm of the Year complements the new category, High Street Firm of the Year, recognising the contrasting scales of achievement within the legal spectrum.

Sole Practitioner of the Year and Support Team of the Year round off the new categories.

"in order to identify the cream of the legal profession, the awards scheme Surveys clients, researches the views Of e general market and and canvasses the opinion of peers," the event organisers said in a statement launching the research process.

The Law Awards of Scotland take place on 13 September.
