A new era has dawned at Bell & Scott as the firm launches itself as Scotland’s only legal firm dealing solely with commercial property. The announcement comes after Bell & Scott transferred its entire private client department to specialist private client firm Pagan Osborne after Bell & Scott’s 10 partners decided that commercial property was the way forward. Managing Partner Ian McDonald said: “Commercial property is a busy and growing part of the Scottish economy and is the focus of a considerable amount of legislation and investment. It is a specialist sector, which we believe needs specialist advice. The legal industry is no different to any other and to succeed you need to be strategically focussed and deliver both on service and innovation. The firm has now been restructured so that its 21 property law experts are split into the distinct areas of acquisition and development, retail and leisure, house building, construction, property dispute resolution, property finance and corporate.
