The Court of Session has appointed a Judicial Factor for Macadams, following the discovery of breaches of the accounts rules and discrepancies in the firm\'s accounts. The firm was headed up by partners Valerie and David Macadam, whose practising certificates have now been suspended. This permament appointment follows the Society\'s successful application for an interim Judicial Factor on 16 December. The Judicial Factor will run the firm and look after clients\' business until until the business can be sold. Les Cumming, Chief Accountant of the Society, said: "I would like to reassure clients of the firm that their interests are being safeguarded by the Law Society of Scotland, which offers many protections to solicitors\' clients."
