Morton Fraser has kicked off 2004 by promoting five of its lawyers to Associate. Promoted are Fiona McDonald, Frances Sim, Debbie McCathie and Dorothy Smith, while Nikki Carlyle is promoted to Senior Associate. Sim has been one of the drivers in the development of Morton Fraser\'s Commercial Property Extranet, which enables the firm\'s clients to manage their portfolios online. Commercial Property lawyer McDonald recently handled the disposal of Scottish & Newcastle\'s retail estate, while McCathie and Smith have handled a number of high-value residential property acquisitions. Carlyle manages Morton Fraser Direct\'s remortgaging operation and recently took on a new Support Lawyer role within the firm to train and develop solicitors and paralegals within Morton Fraser Direct.
