Edinburgh law firm Gillespie Macandrew WS is the latest Scottish law firm to convert to Limited Liability Partnership status as it looks to encourage future growth. The Firm currently has 20 partners and over 120 legal, investment and property professionals and support staff, which brought about a recent move to larger premises in Atholl Crescent. Managing Partner Ian Turnbull explained: “We feel that an LLP is the appropriate structure to take a modern professional practice forward. Unlike a traditional partnership, an LLP is a full corporate entity. “Having the right structure is one of the key elements that will assist in the continued growth of the firm. From a client’s perspective they will see no change in their service as the partners and staff remain the same. “ Mr Turnbull added: “While our LLP name does not include the traditional ‘WS’, we do value this and will continue to use it in our business letters.”
