Anderson Strathern takes MacRoberts and McGrigors employment lawyers

Anderson Strathern has doubled the number of partners it has in its employment unit with the appointment of two new partners as the firm signals its intent in this competitive area pf the law.
New employment partners Alan Masson, previously with MacRoberts, and former McGrigors solicitor Murray McCall bring a wealth of experience and skills across a range of employment law disciplines to the team at Anderson Strathern.
Masson is recognised as one of Scotland’s leading employment lawyers and McCall will be taking his first partner level position, playing a crucial role in the expansion of the firm’s Glasgow office.
Anderson Strathern Chairman, Robert Carr believes that Masson and McCall’s appointment will send a strong signal to the marketplace.
He said: “Our Employment Unit has achieved a real coup in attracting partners of this calibre. It is testament to the current standing of the Unit, and its future potential, that skilled practitioners such as Alan and Murray wish to join us. Both lawyers bring formidable skill sets and experience and I’m sure that they will be instrumental in Anderson Strathern’s ongoing drive to be the best full service law firm in Scotland.”
Masson was Head of Employment Law at Macroberts Edinburgh office and has a formidable reputation in the legal sector. He said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for me and I am excited to be joining Alun Thomas and his dynamic team. Anderson Strathern’s presence in the market has flourished and I’m looking forward to being part of its continued growth. It’s a firm that practices what it preaches and I think that that is important in today’s competitive world.”
McCall will be based in Anderson Strathern’s Glasgow office and will assist in the development of that office.
“I’m Glasgow based,” said McCall, “so Anderson Strathern’s recent move into the Glasgow market interested me. Roles like this are rare and I relish the chance to assist in Anderson Strathern’s development in the West of Scotland.”
Alun Thomas, Head of the Employment Unit said \"I am absolutely delighted that Alan and Murray have chosen to join the team at Anderson Strathern. We have seen the work of the Employment Unit at Anderson Strathern grow by a factor of four since its launch and it seems absolutely right that we are now able to field four dedicated Employment Law Partners in the team.\"
Anderson Strathern’s Employment Unit is almost 10 years old and in that time has increased from two lawyers to twelve, quadrupling the number of matters it deals with and attracting a succession of new clients. It boasts Scotland’s only dedicated Discrimination Law Service and has been at the forefront of employment law in Scotland.
