GSPC (Glasgow Solicitors Property Centre) has launched a new on-line service to provide free information on property selling prices as recorded by the Registers of Scotland to solicitors throughout Scotland. The web site can be found at www.scottishsellingprices.co.uk
GSPC already provides it 200 member firms with information on the selling prices of residential property throughout Scotland and this new web site will extend this service to law firms and solicitors across Scotland. The data is obtained direct from the Registers of Scotland and processed to make it easier than ever to find relevant records for any solicitor valuing a property for sale or submitting an offer on behalf of clients.
Firms can search for any property sold over the last six years (since May 2000), whether it is a bothy in the highlands or penthouse in the city. There are a range of search options, including street name, town or postcode, which make it easier to find a specific property or get an idea of selling prices in a general area. And there is no limit on the number of searches users can run.
Bill Scouller, chief executive of the GSPC said: “Selling prices data has been available for some time from the Registers of Scotland, but existing providers’ web pages have proved to be complicated to use, time consuming and, in many cases, expensive to use regularly.
Mr Scouller continued: “This latest innovation from GSPC means that for the first time, selling price information will be available free to law firms Scotland wide in a format which makes the data easily accessible, even to frequent users. This highly flexible resource offers firms a comprehensive starting point for property values specific to each locality, which will be updated regularly by us.”
