Law firm Shepherd and Wedderburn is acting alongside Linklaters as legal advisers to ScottishPower plc in the approximately £11.6bn recommended offer by Iberdrola,S.A., the Spanish utility company.
The corporate finance team at Shepherd and Wedderburn will be responsible for steering the deal, which will be implemented by way of a court approved scheme of arrangement, through the Scottish courts.
The Shepherd and Wedderburn team is led by corporate finance partner Paul Hally.
