Morton Fraser becomes first female CBI vice chair

Morton Fraser\'s chief executive Linda Urquhart has been appointed as vice chairman of CBI Scotland, a move which will see her become the first female to take up the post.
Urquhart will take obver the position when the current Vice Chairman, David Thorburn, becomes Chairman of CBI Scotland in September of this year. Linda will be CBI Scotland’s first female Vice Chairman and first female Chairman when she succeeds David Thorburn in September 2009.
Linda Urquhart added: “I am very pleased to have been appointed Vice Chairman of CBI Scotland. I look forward very much to working with David Thorburn, the Council of CBI Scotland and the Director, Iain McMillan, when I take up my appointment in September of this year”.
The Chairman of CBI Scotland, Mr Melfort Campbell OBE, said: “I am delighted with Linda’s appointment. She is a true professional and very highly regarded in Scotland’s business and legal communities. The Council of CBI Scotland warmly welcomes Linda into this new role in support of David Thorburn when he becomes Chairman in September of this year”.
