Harper Macleod LLP is celebrating after achieving growth in turnover of 17.3% to the year-end 31 March 2007. The firm achieved turnover of £12.2million, up from £10.4million in the previous year, topping off 12 months of impressive growth for the firm and smashing through its projected target of 10% growth for 2006-7. Cumulative growth in turnover for 31 March 2005 to 31 March 2007 is an incredible 72%, confirming that Harper Macleod’s innovative approach to delivering legal services is a force to be reckoned with in the Scottish marketplace. The fastest growing areas of the firm include Real Estate, Litigation and Recoveries and growth predictions for 2007-8 are already at 10%, making Harper Macleod undoubtedly one of the fastest growing medium sized commercial law firms in Scotland. In the past year, Harper Macleod has picked up new clients such as BP, Allied Dunbar, CBRE, Student Loans Company, Woodford Group, and the MBO of Internacionale. The success has also led to a number of promotions at the firm. This includes five promotions to Partner: Bruce Caldow, for his expertise in the fields of sports and employment law; Louise Hamilton for her role in the Corporate & Commercial Practice Group; Sandy Hastie for his work in the Edinburgh Litigation department; Andrew Hunter for his role in licensing and recoveries law; and, James McMorrow for his work in the social housing & public sector field.
There are also two further Associate promotions: Nadia Sirc, based within the Recoveries Practice Group and Ross Thomson, in the firm’s Inverness office, working on property and civil litigation matters.
Harper Macleod is also delighted to announce the appointment of Associate Douglas Reid to its expanding Real Estate Practice Group. Douglas specialises in commercial property leasing, in addition to acquisitions and sales. HM Corporate Solutions LLP, Harper Macleod’s associated corporate finance advisory business, is also delighted to welcome Sukhjit Dhaliwal who joins from the investment team at Scottish Enterprise. She will specialise in fund development and MBO/MBI advisory work and comes to the firm with the status of Associate.
