Tods Murray appoint international cricketer Allott
Tods Murray LLP has appointed former international cricketer and broadcaster, Paul Allott, as an Advisor to its Sports Law Team. Allott played cricket 26 times for England in Tests and One Day Internationals, and appeared in two Ashes winning series against Australia. He is also among a select band of bowlers who have taken over 500 first class wickets for Lancashire. Since retiring from professional cricket, he has worked for BBC Television, been a member of the Test Match Special Team on BBC Radio and for the past ten years, an integral part of the “Sky Sports Cricket” commentary team including such luminaries as Ian Botham, David Gower and Mike Atherton. He has recently returned from the ICC Cricket World Cup in the West Indies, where he was working for Sky Sports. Allott brings his expertise and knowledge of sport beyond just cricket as well as his experience in the media side of the sports industry, and is well placed to assist with the promotion and growth of the Sports Law Team. He said: “I am delighted to have this opportunity to work with Tods Murray and to assist with the promotion and growth of the Sports Law Team. It is an exciting time for sport generally in the UK with the 2012 London Olympics and Glasgow’s 2014 Commonwealth Games Bid. I have known Tods’ partner David Rogers for ten years and am excited at the prospect of working with David and the rest of the Team.” Tods Murray’s Executive Partner, Peter Misselbrook, commented: “Paul’s appointment will be invaluable in further developing our Sports Law Team bringing to the team the insight of a professional sportsman. We are delighted to welcome him to our firm and look forward to working with him.”
