Further growth at Lindsays after merger with Borders law firm
Edinburgh-based law firm Lindsays is continuing its recent growth spurt by joining with Jedburgh law firm Turnbull, Simson & Sturrock (TSS) in a move that will enable the firms to provide a full service legal capability in the Borders region, as well as significantly strengthening Lindsays’ credentials in rural and agricultural law. The Turnbull, Simson & Sturrock name will continue, as will the three resident partners, David Sturrock, Sheena West and David Soeder. 2006 saw a period of significant growth for Lindsays with the firm merging with Edinburgh-based residential property firm Clark & Co in June while in September it opening a new office in Glasgow. According to Lindsays it will be business as usual for TSS’s clients in the Borders. They say the move will offer various benefits such as the supply of specialist legal services such as employment, litigation and family law which will be provided by Lindsays’ specialist lawyers directly from the Jedburgh office, in tandem with services supplied by TSS’s locally based lawyers. David Reith, chairman of Lindsays’ management board, said: “We are very excited to be joining forces with TSS. They are a leading law firm in the Borders with very strong recognition for their expertise in rural and agricultural law. We look forward to developing lasting relationships with our new colleagues and also to developing our business in the Borders.” David Sturrock, senior partner at TSS, added: “We are delighted. Lindsays’ attractive culture and dedicated approach to client service fit well with our own philosophy. It also means that our clients will have the advantage of easy access at a local level to a wide range of specialist legal services.”
