Five firms sign up for Prince’s Trust Lions Den brief
Five of Scotland’s leading law firms have signed up to take part in an innovative charity challenge created by The Prince’s Trust based around the BBC TV programme Dragons’ Den. The Prince’s Trust Lion’s Den challenge will see law firms Tods Murray, DLA Piper, McGrigors, Biggart Baillie and HBJ Gateley Wareing go head-to-head over the next six months, to endeavour to build a £3,000 stake from the Prince’s Trust into a net profit of over £20,000 through a business venture. Signed up to mentor the four teams of lawyers are some of Scotland’s leading entrepreneurs – Gio Benedetti of Wallace Cameron, Ken Ross of The Elphinstone Group, Jim McColl of Clyde Blowers, Gerard Eadie of CR Smith and David Gordon of Windsave. The Lion’s Den Challenge was officially launched at a Masterclass event at Celtic Park on Monday 21 May, The project will culminate at a Celebration Event on 3rd December where all the teams will discover who has raised the most amount of money to claim the title of ‘King of the Jungle’. Commenting on the Challenge, Geraldine Gammell, director of The Prince’s Trust Scotland said: “Last year we celebrated our 30th birthday, and are looking for the continued support that will ensure we carry on providing assistance to Scotland’s socially excluded young people, as well as activity that will maximise the profile of the companies involved. We know how successful our programmes have been in turning around thousands of young lives and we are sure the legal community will rise to the challenge.”
