Dundee solicitors Thorntons made it into the shortlisted final six firms vying for the Outstanding Contribution to Developing Employability and Skills award at theTARGETjobs National Graduate Recruitment Awards
The award ultimately went to JP Morgan, although Throntons were pleased to have come so close.
“Making the short list is a wonderful achievement and a huge boost for the team at Thorntons, as we were compared not only to other law firms but with blue chip organisations across every sector in the UK," said Helen Archibald, director of HR at Thorntons.
“It reflects the work we have done in an effort to recruit and retain the best calibre of candidates. Our very high retention rate is a reflection of the investment we make in developing our graduates.”
Jack Robertson, Thorntons’ Chairman, added: “We are a successful and expanding firm and recognise the need to invest in our staff in order to attract people of the right quality and skill to contribute to the performance and growth of our business.
“It is encouraging to see our commitment to this area of our business recognised in this way – it is a credit to the valuable work of our HR team.”
