The verdict in the Aamer Anwar contempt of court case will be delivered at Edinburgh High Court on Tuesday 1 July.

Anwar was referrred to the High Court by Lord Carloway after the conviction of his client Atif Siddique, following remarks made by Anwar outside the court, after the conclusion of the case.

Anwar has been supported by civil rights groups including Liberty, as well as prominent human rights solicitor Gareth Peirce, as well as MSP Margo MacDonald, who lodged a Parliamentary Motion in his favour.

The Firm has previously called for a swift resolution to Anwar's case in the interests of justice and the wider legal profession.
