Hotel Indigo and Limelight Restaurant
The classic yet ultra contemporary Limelight Bar and Grill, with its floor to ceiling windows, is reminiscent of the coolest - and hottest - bars and restaurants in London, in terms of originality, decor, and menu choices.
Based at 75 Waterloo St, Limelight is housed within one of the city’s most ornate Victorian buildings, which housed Glasgow’s first power station, and from which Glasgow School of Art was powered in the early 1900s.
Extensive table d’hôte and a la carte menus have been devised by award winning Executive Chef, Gerry Sharkey and diners can choose from an array of traditional Grill options, mouth-watering fish dishes, as well as specially created Chef’s Specials, which change daily. Limelight also boasts one of the city’s most extensive and unique wine lists, which includes a number of the finest reserve wines from across globe.
Already an award winner, the spectacular Limelight Bar and Grill boasts one of the largest glass frontages in the city, and is the ideal place to be seen and to get up ‘close and personal’ with the dozens of celebrities, whose specially commissioned portraits adorn the walls.
Limelight is the latest culinary offering from Maurice Taylor, the legendary Glasgow restaurateur, whose name until now has been synonymous with the iconic La Bonne Auberge brasserie, which, when it opened in 1975, was the trailblazer for what is now a thriving and vibrant restaurant scene in the city.
